£3,442 raised!!!

I would like to thank everyone that sponsored us on the 2people1bike trip as the total raised is a huge £3,442. As I had touched on in earlier blogs it is as much of a mental as a physical challenge. By this I mean that when you wake up tired from a long days cycling yesterday do you really want to get back on the bike and cycle another 70 miles. Or having cycled 100 miles already that day could you do another 10 to the campsite or do you just want to stop and pitch your tent there.
If these ideas had evered entered our minds then it was the thought of everyone at home who were supporting us that helped keep us motivated and to hear how much we have raised makes every ache and pain worth it. The idea behind this tip was to do something that would grab peoples attention if I were to ask for sponsorship again having raised so much last year and it achieved that as the final amount raised proofs.
So once again thankyou to everyone who supported us and watch this space for any future craxy adventures I may go on.

Hi James, When vision in my left eye rapidly deteriorated at the age of 62, last May, it was a puzzle for ophthalmologists. My right eye deteriorated in Jan this year and that was when the diagnosis of LHON was made. I am a priest in the Church of England, continuing the job, thanks to Access at Work. The symptoms you describe are very familiar and I am presently on the Newcastle trial. Congratulationso on the money you have raised. PLease be in touch if you do anything else for fundraising in the future. Best wishes, Chich (and Gill) Hewitt
